Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens + Lens Accessory Kit For Canon EOS 20D, EOS 30D, EOS 40D, EOS 50D, EOS 60D DSLR Camera

• 28-135mm standard zoom lens with f/3.5-5.6 maximum aperture for Canon SLR cameras
• Delivers sharp, natural-looking pictures in dim lighting without requiring flash or tripod
• Ring-type USM adjustment system for swift, silent autofocusing and full-time manual focus
• Close focusing distance of 20 inches; 75- to 18-degree diagonal angle of view
• Measures 3.1 inches in diameter and 3.8 inches long; weighs 18.9 ounces; 1-year warranty

The Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens is a compact and lightweight standard zoom lens that offers superior optical performance, plus a built-in Image Stabilizer. The IS system reduces the possibility of blurred photographs caused by camera shake, which allows for handheld photography in comparatively dim light without a flash or tripod. At the wideangle end of the zoom range, the equivalent shutter speed gain is approximately 1.5 stops while at the telephoto end, it is approximately 2 stops.

In addition, the lens has a USM drive mechanism for faster and quieter AF operation, and the pulse control diaphragm (EMD) ensures precise aperture control.

The IS system is composed of a pair of gyro sensors to detect vertical and horizontal motion and a microprocessor that compensates for it by shifting special lens elements in parallel with the perceived movement.

The internal focusing mechanism allows the front of the lens to remain stationary and to easily accommodate specialty filters, such as polarizing filters.

!±8± View The Night Sky With The Celestron Firstscope

The Celestron Firstscope telescope is built primarily for novices, as the name would imply. It's considered by most to be one of the top telescopes for novices because anyone can use it and it's highly affordable. The simplicity of it however should not be mistaken for a lack of performance, as it has enough to help children and even adults indulge in their interest for observing the night sky.

Weighing six pounds, the Celestron Firstscope is highly compact and portable. While a tripod can be used to hold the scope up higher, it can simply be placed on a table top or any other platform with a flat surface.

The Firstscope has a Dobsonian style mount that allows for navigation to be easy and smooth in all directions. The optical tube is a Newtonian design, and this means it has a shorter focal ratio and a wide field of view. Glass is coated on the optical components that produce images that are sharp and clean. Celestron is known for producing quality, and the Firstscope is not lacking. It's very sturdy and is made up of quality materials.

One of the reasons why the Celestron 21024 Firstscope Telescope is so suitable for beginners is because no assembly is required. As simple as it is to use, to maximize the features of it you should read through the product manual first. This manual provides clear instructions that will help enhance your viewing of the universe. You can prepare for night observation by familiarizing yourself with it during the day.

To avoid any damage to your telescope, never point the scope towards the sun to prevent any heat from building up inside. Not using a solar filter can ultimately damage your eyes or break the telescope from the heat. Also, don't leave your telescope where the sun can shine down on it for a long period of time.

Two eyepieces come with the Celestron Firstscope: a 20mm and a 4mm. Celestron sells a accessory kit that includes more eyepieces to get stronger magnification and brighter views of the objects. For beginners and children, the Firstscope is a great way for users to get started with observing the night sky. You will be able to focus just on tracking objects and not have to worry about all the other bells and whistles that come with more expensive models. Even those with experience will enjoy how simple and portable it is.
